Republicans in states like Georgia, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Minnesota have made their plans clear. They want to pass TOTAL abortion bans, dismantle climate protectons, and gut voting rights. Wade overturned and 31 states expected to virtually ban abortion access by year’s end, reproductive rights will be decided at the state level THREE WEEKS from today. In many states, like Georgia and Pennsylvania, the outcome of the election THIS November will decide whether abortion is banned outright or not. So far, we’ve endorsed and are supporting nearly 400 pro-choice Democratas with STEM backgrounds at the state and local level – The vast majority of which are women and people of color, many of them running in what will be the closest races in the nation. [That’s why we’re asking if you’ll support 4 incredible pro-choice champions who could really use your support in their key races: Click here to donate DIRECTLY to Dr. Jasmine Clark in Georgia, Gwen Stoltz in Pennsylvania, Rob Kupec in Minnesota, and Todd Brady in Iowa.]( [DONATE NOW »]( You might not know this, but campaigns for state and local office are significantly cheaper than campaigns for statewide office or Congress. Meaning your donation goes further – especially in states where control of the state legislature could come down to a handful of races like these decided by a handful of votes – your support absolutely makes a difference! --------------------------------------------------------------- [Dr. Jasmine Clark (GA HD-108)](. Jasmine Clark (GA HD-108) – Dr. Jasmine Clark is a lecturer at Emory University’s microbiology and nursing schools (where she earned her Doctorate) and has critical experience with research on HIV/AIDS. In 2018, Jasmine flipped a GOP-held seat blue as a first-time candidate by just over 300 votes in one of the state’s closest elections by running on how her scientific and medical expertise would better provide for the health and wellbeing of Georgia families. Jasmine serves as the Secretary of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus and has championed dozens of bills relating to reproductive rights, gun reform, criminal justice, and healthcare. Georgia already has one of the worst rates of maternal mortality in the country and is one of only 12 states to refuse to expand Medicaid. Many consider her to be one of the most vulnerable Democrats in all of Georgia so she needs our help with early voting set to begin days from now. --------------------------------------------------------------- [Gwen Stoltz (PA HD-143)]( Stoltz (PA HD-143) –- Gwen is a research biochemist and writer with experience working to protect local communities and local responders from toxic environments and severe pollution events (including working as an inspector for the EPA!). Republicans currently control Pennsylvania’s state legislature and are working tirelessly to ban abortion statewide and steal control of how Pennsylvania decides Presidential elections. In 2020, this district was decided by just 1,336 votes and was carried by Donald Trump by a razor-thin margin. Gwen is counting on our help to win this critical battleground seat. --------------------------------------------------------------- [Rob Kupec (MN SD-04)]( Kupec (MN SD-04) - Rob is a chief meteorologist and former small business owner who has lived and contributed to his community for 20+ years. As the son of two public school teachers and as a climate expert, Rob has championed public schools and addressed the climate crisis year after year and will be a staunch advocate for women’s reproductive rights in the GOP-controlled Senate. Republicans currently hold a majority in the Minnesota State Senate by THREE seats! If Rob wins this race, Democrats will be well on their way to flip control of the chamber. Rob is running for an OPEN GOP-held seat that Trump only won by a razor-thin margin, making this one of the best pickup opportunities for Democrats in the entire state! --------------------------------------------------------------- [Captain Todd Brady (IA SD-21)]( Brady (IA SD-21) During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Todd realized there was a MASSIVE GAP in the state’s website between finding a location for vaccines and actually booking an appointment – So he created his own website to solve the problem using his extensive background in software engineering and consulting. Election analysts with CNAlysis rate this State Senate seat – an open Democratic-held seat - as the MOST COMPETITIVE seat in the entire state. Toddy’s ability to keep this seat blue depends entirely on us. In a Republican controlled-Senate that has tried to ban all abortions, enact one of the worst voter suppression bills in the nation, and gut public school funding, we need voices like Todd in office. [Jasmine, Gwen, Rob, and Todd are running in some of the most competitive state legislative races in America and they desperately need our help: Can they count on you to donate to their campaigns so they can reach thousands of voters before Election Day?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation willbe processed immediately and split between 314 Action, Dr. Jasmine Clark in Georgia, Gwen Stoltz in Pennsylvania, Rob Kupec in Minnesota, and Todd Brady in Iowa. [Click here to unsubscribe from 314 Action's Email List]( 314 Action is a grassroots community of over 6 million people working to elect Democratic scientists at all levels of government who will use science and facts to address some of our most pressing issues from climate change and gun violence to health care and protecting the environment. To date, we've flipped five U.S. Senate seats from red to blue, including drafting both Mark Kelly and John Hickenlooper to run, helped Democrats flip the House in 2018 by electing eight Democrats in red to blue districts, and secured more than six dozen state legislative victories -- All with an average donation of $18. The best way we can build on the progress we've achieved and empower President Joe Biden's science-first agenda is to defend our razor-thin majorities in the House and Senate, which is why we're targeting 68 Senate, House, Gubernatorial and statewide races ahead of 2022. We're creating political consequences for the Republicans who disavow science, deny the reality of climate change, and spread conspiracy theories as a result.
