Each of the following 5 Democratic scientists and healthcare heroes are running for an OPEN seat in a race that current polling and election experts believe will be decided by single digits. [Will you consider giving $5 – yes, as little as $5! – to support these 5 Democratic scientists running for OPEN Senate and House seats? Trudy, Yadira, Cora, Al, and Kermit can’t win without supporters like you by their sides.]( [CHIP IN $5]( [Trudy Busch Valentine]( Busch Valentine (MO-SEN) – Trudy’s decision to get into the healthcare field started early as a 13 year-old when she volunteered as a candy striper at a local Missouri hospital. Trudy, a member of the iconic Missouri Busch family, is a registered nurse to this day and her lifelong commitment to improving healthcare in the state is part of the reason the Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing was established in her name in St. Louis. Republicans are lining up behind disgraced former Gov. Greitens who resigned in disgrace for corruption and allegations of domestic violence. If he’s the candidate, multiple polls have Democrats tied and in position of taking the lead in this battleground Senate race. --------------------------------------------------------------- . Yadira Caraveo (CO-8) – As part of the redistricting process, Colorado lawmakers created a true toss-up district: it’s split evenly 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats and it’s an open seat. Colorado has never elected a Latina to Federal office and Yadira, a local pediatrician and state legislator who has become the go-to expert for public health and healthcare related legislation, is trying to change that. With several Democratic incumbents retiring and GOP gerrymandering costing us seats, Democrats have to win highly competitive toss-up districts like Colorado’s 8th if we’re going to hold our historically narrow majority in the House. --------------------------------------------------------------- [Cora Neuman]( Neumann (MT-1) – As part of the redistricting process, Montana gained a brand new House seat and experts agree it’s incredibly competitive. Cora is a public health expert who was on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic. She organized a non-profit to distribute PPE to rural and remote communities throughout the state, worked to combat misinformation, and assisted with a historic vaccination effort. Her opponent? Donald Trump’s infamous Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke – His tenure was plagued by corruption, bribery, and a complete disregard for public lands, climate, and science. Democrats won Montana in 2018 and with your help, Cora can too. --------------------------------------------------------------- [Al Gross](. Al Gross (AK-SPECIAL) – Dr. Al Gross is an orthopedic surgeon and fisherman who surprised election experts across the country when he came closer than anyone anticipated to winning Alaska’s Senate race in 2020. Now, he’s running in the fast approaching Alaska special election for the state’s 1st Congressional District against Sarah Palin. Palin is notoriously underwater with her approval ratings and multiple polls confirm Al has a real pathway to victory in this June special election. --------------------------------------------------------------- [Kermit Jones](. Kermit Jones (CA-3) – Dr. Kermit Jones wears many hats (literally). He’s a Navy Veteran, a licensed lawyer, and is a practicing physician who spent the past two years serving Covid-19 on the frontlines of this pandemic. His original opponent, GOP Rep. Tom McClintock, was so startled by Kermit’s candidacy and grassroots momentum that he fled the district to run for a different one. Now, this is an open seat and thanks to redistricting, was shifted a staggering TEN points in favor of Democrats. This is the kind of race Democrats need to win this November and Kermit is the kind of candidate who can win it. --------------------------------------------------------------- [Can Trudy, Yadira, Cora, Al, and Kermit count on you to give as little as $5 to support their campaigns in these highly competitive races to win these OPEN seats?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be processed immediately: [CHIP IN $5 IMMEDIATELY »]( [CHIP IN $25 IMMEDIATELY »]( [CHIP IN $50 IMMEDIATELY »]( [CHIP IN $100 IMMEDIATELY »]( [CHIP IN $200 IMMEDIATELY »]( [CHIP IN ANOTHER AMOUNT »]( Thank you, 314 Action Fund PAID FOR BY 314 ACTION FUND, 314ACTION.ORG, NOT AUTHORIZED BY ANY CANDIDATE OR ANY CANDIDATE'S COMMITTEE. [Click here to unsubscribe from 314 Action's Email List]( 314 Action is a grassroots community of over 6 million people working to elect Democratic scientists at all levels of government who will use science and facts to address some of our most pressing issues from climate change and gun violence to health care and protecting the environment. To date, we've flipped five U.S. Senate seats from red to blue, including drafting both Mark Kelly and John Hickenlooper to run, helped Democrats flip the House in 2018 by electing eight Democrats in red to blue districts, and secured more than six dozen state legislative victories -- All with an average donation of $18. The best way we can build on the progress we've achieved and empower President Joe Biden's science-first agenda is to defend our razor-thin majorities in the House and Senate, which is why we're targeting 68 Senate, House, Gubernatorial and statewide races ahead of 2022. We're creating political consequences for the Republicans who disavow science, deny the reality of climate change, and spread conspiracy theories as a result.
