When 314 Action Fund was founded five years ago, we were witnessing the most brazenly anti-science Presidential administration in modern history attack our scientific institutions, government scientists, and policies designed to keep our families safe and healthy. And within two years, more scientists were running for office than at any point in our country’s history — With more elected to office in 2018 than at any point in history. It was dubbed ‘The Year of the Scientist’ by multiple news outlets. Our candidates flipped the House in 2018. Then they flipped the Senate two years later. And along the way, we’ve elected more than 100 Democratic scientists and STEM professionals to Congress, Governorships, state legislatures, school boards, and to all sorts of local offices. We’re now the largest organization in the country working to elect Democratic scientists to office with millions of supporters from all 50 states. We’ve invested tens of millions of dollars to fundamentally transform our political landscape, winning races and elections nobody thought was possible.
