We’d like to explain in a bit more detail why your support – and donations – are so critical and why the impact they will have today is going to be much more substantial than weeks and months from now. ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ 314 Action Fund is the only national organization working to train, recruit, support, and elect Democrats with STEM and medical backgrounds to office at all levels of government. To receive our most important updates,[click here](. To unsubscribe [you can click here.]( [314 Action Fund Logo]( Why 314 Action? With the election 43 days away and early voting already underway in some states, you’re probably receiving a ton of political mailers, fundraising emails and texts, and candidate ads. We’d like to explain in a bit more detail why your support – and donations – are so critical and why the impact they will have today is going to be much more substantial than weeks and months from now. Before that, though, we’re going to ask if [you will make a donation ahead of our biggest FEC deadline of the election to date.Â]( are moving forward with one of our biggest investments in history to reach millions of voters that could decide control of Congress and still have a ways to go to fully fund that effort. 314 Action is the only national organization working to recruit and elect Democratic candidates with backgrounds in science and healthcare in the United States. And while many organizations only get involved at the Federal level, we’re proud to have dedicated staffers who work exclusively to recruit, train, support, and elect downballot candidates for the state and local level (yes, we even support candidates for water boards and school boards!). We do this because we know from experience that elected officials with scientific backgrounds are more effective legislators and can drive policy on complex issues the way other candidates can’t (and won’t be influenced by shady lobbyists and special interest groups who try to mislead elected officials on complex amendments and legislation). Think about it this way: Who knows our healthcare system better than doctors and nurses? Who knows more about education than our teachers and professors? Who knows more about infrastructure and technology than engineers and technologists? Who knows more about the environment than climate scientists and geologists? They are effective communicators and professional problem solvers -- by crafting policy based on data and facts, they can produce real benefits that are driven by reality, not politics or moneyed interests. But it’s about more than just improving our politics. It’s also about winning. And we have years of polling and results that confirms that American voters are more likely to want to support – and even cross party lines to support – candidates with backgrounds in science and healthcare compared to other professions. Astronaut Mark Kelly – who we drafted to run for Senate – won over Republicans and Independents by double digits in Arizona, helping transform a Safely Republican state into a swing state! There are several House districts that were similarly considered Safely Republican seats -- and then we ran scientists to flip them blue -- which are now considered Safely Democratic seats. To date, we’ve supported nearly 1,000 candidates and have had more than 7,000 reach out for support, training, and questions about running. There’s only so much we can do in these races after ballots are already being cast. And with early voting underway in some areas, your support today means we can reach more voters tomorrow. Now is when your support goes the furthest. [If our candidates win, Democrats will flip the House, hold the Senate, flip and defend a dozen competitive state legislative chambers, and elect more Democrats with backgrounds in STEM to office than ever in our country’s near 300-year history. Donate today to make that a reality in November.]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be immediately processed. Since 2017, we’ve supported more than 500+ candidates and reached millions of swing voters on their behalf with our data-driven messaging campaigns. Our candidates led the charge to flip the House in 2018, the Senate in 2021, and a handful of state legislatures in 2022. Now, there are more scientists in office than at any point in U.S. history. No one is better equipped to craft policy to address pressing issues like gun violence, climate change, healthcare reform, or restoring reproductive rights than scientific professionals. Recent polling confirms that scientific and medical professionals have some of the highest approval ratings and levels of trust among voters – Meaning our candidates are better positioned to win tough races and can cut through the partisan divide! 100% of our work is powered by individual donations and our average donation is just $19. We plan on supporting more Democratic scientists and medical professionals in virtually every state this election cycle than at any point in our history. With you by our side, we’ll defend our Senate majority, retake the House, keep the White House blue, and elect a historic wave of Democrats to state legislatures and local office.
