Across the country, abortion access is being decided at the state level: Our candidates helped protect abortion access in states like Michigan, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota. And in Ohio they authored the first bill to codify the protections of Roe v. Wade into law. That’s why we wanted to highlight 4 incredible pro-choice healthcare workers, including two who will be on the ballot NEXT MONTH!  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ 314 Action Fund is the only national organization working to train, recruit, support, and elect Democrats with STEM and medical backgrounds to office at all levels of government. Our BEST line of defense is at the state level: Nobody is better equipped to fight back against GOP attacks on IVF, contraception, abortion access, and reproductive care than pro-choice healthcare providers. Which is why Kamala Harris is calling on us to ACT: Across the country, abortion access is being decided at the state level: Our candidates helped protect abortion access in states like Michigan, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota. And in Ohio they authored the first bill to codify the protections of Roe v. Wade into law. That’s why we wanted to highlight 3 incredible pro-choice healthcare workers, including two who will be on the ballot NEXT MONTH! [Your donation will go DIRECTLY to these 3 incredible pro-choice nurses and doctors: Nurse Molly Cook in Texas, Dr. Jasmine Clark in Georgia, and Dr. Arvind Venkat in Pennsylvania. Can you give as little as $4 today?]( Cook (TX SD-15) – Molly Cook is a progressive E.R. nurse who would make HISTORY if she won the Texas special election next month. If elected, she would be the youngest State Senator in Texas history, the 1st LGBTQ+ member of the Senate, and would become the ONLY pro-choice woman with a background in healthcare in the chamber (and in the largest state that has an abortion ban in the country). The Stakes: Governor Greg Abbott is the architect of several abortion bans, including one that allows abortion providers to be prosecuted. Electing Democrats like Molly Cook will get us one step closer to protecting abortion rights in Texas. . Jasmine Clark (GA HD-108) – Jasmine has a PhD in microbiology and molecular genetics, is a professor at Emory University, was the Director of the historic March for Science in Atlanta, and flipped a safe Republican seat blue in 2018 by a margin of victory of just 300 votes. In the state legislature, Jasmine has been a fierce opponent of GOP abortion restrictions and attacks on voting rights. In 2022, Jasmine barely defended this seat by a margin of less than 1,000 votes and Republicans have made unseating her a top priority of theirs. The Stakes: Democrats have won Georgia statewide four times in the past three years, yet remain critically underrepresented at the state level. If Democrats can match the levels of GOP spending at the state level, we can FLIP the State House in the next few years. . Arvind Venkat (PA HD-30) Dr. Arvind Venkat is an emergency physician who made history as the first Indian American to be elected to the state House and the first physician to serve in the General Assembly in nearly 60 years. As a state representative, Arvind has focused his legislative goals around affordable healthcare, protecting reproductive rights, investing in public education, and more. He was part of the successful effort to FLIP control of the State House blue in 2022 (which Democrats did by a single seat). The Stakes: Governor Josh Shapiro is the last line of defense for abortion rights in Pennsylvania. Right now, Republican lawmakers in the state are launching efforts to make abortion harder to access and doctors like Arvind are holding them at bay. [Your support goes infinitely further at the state and local level: So can Molly, Jasmine, Arvind, and Brian count on you to rush a donation directly to their campaigns?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be immediately processed and split between 314 Action, Molly Cook, Dr. Jasmine Clark, Dr. Arvind Venkat, and Dr. Brian Duty. Since 2017, we’ve supported more than 500+ candidates and reached millions of swing voters on their behalf with our data-driven messaging campaigns. Our candidates led the charge to flip the House in 2018, the Senate in 2021, and a handful of state legislatures in 2022. Now, there are more scientists in office than at any point in U.S. history. No one is better equipped to craft policy to address pressing issues like gun violence, climate change, healthcare reform, or restoring reproductive rights than scientific professionals. Recent polling confirms that scientific and medical professionals have some of the highest approval ratings and levels of trust among voters – Meaning our candidates are better positioned to win tough races and can cut through the partisan divide! 100% of our work is powered by individual donations and our average donation is just $19. We plan on supporting more Democratic scientists and medical professionals in virtually every state this election cycle than at any point in our history. With you by our side, we’ll defend our Senate majority, retake the House, keep the White House blue, and elect a historic wave of Democrats to state legislatures and local office.
