CBN charges on deposits, withdrawals: Nigerians decry 'draconian' mandate by FG
Nigerians have criticized the implementation of the cashless policy by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) which mandates the imposition of charges on cash deposits and withdrawals.
This directive was issued to all financial institutions by the CBN on Wednesday, September 18.
The mandate means banks would impose three per cent processing fees for withdrawals. Also, a two per cent processing fee will apply for lodgements of amounts above N500, 000 for individual accounts. [Read more](

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dismissed allegations that its minister, Geoffrey Onyeama refused to appear before the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Mr Ferdinard Nwonye, a spokesperson for the ministry, made this known in a statement on Monday, September 16, in Abuja.
