It has always been my passion to support any pro-people action. I am a social crusader and a human right activist. So any activity that will ameliorate or end the suffering of an ordinary Nigerian and the masses in general in whatever area be it health, education, politics, works, housing, agriculture, entrepreneur, economy, government budget, youth, women, and security becomes my interest. Representatives of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) and leadership of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) are presently meeting in Abuja to avert industrial action as a result of the seven-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government on Wednesday, July 31, by NUPENG.
NUPENG had asked the FG to compel Chevron Nigeria Limited to honour the agreement it reached with the union on June 20, 2019, saying its members would embark on strike if the agreement was not respected in seven days. [Read more](

Buhari closes case, as Presidential Tribunal fixes Aug 20 for final arguments
The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has fixed August 21 for final arguments in the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar against President Muhammadu Buhari. The Tribunal disclosed this on on Thursday, August 1.

Cisco pays $8.6m to settle software flaw claims
Cisco has agreed to pay $8.6m to settle a lawsuit filed by a client alleging the networking giant knowingly sold video surveillance kit containing serious security vulnerabilities.
US law firm Phillips & Cohen said it filed a qui tam, or whistleblower, lawsuit on behalf of James Glenn, a consultant for a Cisco partner company of Danish origin. The firm is said to have fired Glenn after he submitted a report to Cisco detailing the flaws. [Read more](

Plastic bag sales in big retail chains drop by 90% following introduction of charge
The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) says the companies sold 490 million fewer single-use plastic bags in 2018/19 than in the same period the previous year. This was a drop of almost 50% compared with sales in the previous period.
Defra says the average person in England now buys just 10 bags a year from the major supermarkets compared with 140 bags in 2014 before the charge was introduced. [Read more](
