The Presidency has described as an âabsolute falsehoodâ the allegation that the Federal Government gave N100billion to Miyetti Allah, an association of Fulani herders, for âdubious reasonsâ.
Garba Shehu, the Presidentâs Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, in a statement in Abuja on Friday, May 9.
The presidential aide was reacting to comments credited to Ohaneze Ndigbo and Afenifere, who expressed concern about the meeting between the government and Miyetti Allah. [Read more](

TCN explains collapse of national grid
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said the collapse of the National Grid on May 8, at 2:32p.m, was caused by multiple tripping on its substation in Onitsha, Anambra.
The Managing Director of TCN, Mohammed Usman, made the disclosure at a news conference in Abuja on Friday, April 10.

U.S. Treasury Department on Friday expanded the scope of its Venezuela sanctions to the defense and security services sectors as part of the campaign against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
U.S. and foreign companies working with Venezuela's defense and security services sectors can now be sanctioned, the Treasury Department said, adding to penalties for companies working in the oil and banking sectors.
