Rivers Elections: INEC announces Wike winner of gubernatorial
The Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in River State, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday, April 3 won his re-election bid, having been declared the winner of the March 9, governorship election.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun has described the Federal High Court judgment nullifying the candidacy of Sen. Ademola Adeleke as the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 2018 gubernatorial elections as a victory for the state.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the just concluded election, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Peter Obi have congratulated the governor of Rivers, Nyesom Wike on his re-election.
Wike won the election with 886,264 votes, while Mr Biokpomabo Awara of the African Alliance Congress (AAC) who came second scored 173,859 votesAtiku in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja described Wikeâs victory as hard earned re-election.

NJC not considering allegations against Onnoghen, Muhammad
The National Judicial Council (NJC) on Wednesday, April 3 abstained from considering allegations relating to assets declaration that was levelled against the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria. Justice Walter Onnoghen.
The decision which is contained in a statement, issued by Soji Oye, the Director of Information, NJC.
Oye said the council took the decision at an emergency meeting to consider the Report of the Five-Man Committee constituted to investigate the allegations of misconduct made against Onnoghen and Justice Tanko Muhammad. [Read more](

The remains of the father of a former Speaker, Federal House of Representative, Salisu Buhari, was on Wednesday, April 3 laid to rest in Kano.
The late business tycoon died in an Egyptian hospital on Monday, April 1 at the age of 83 after undergoing medical treatment.

US warns Turkey over Russian S-400 missile system deal
US Vice-President Mike Pence has warned Turkey against buying a Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile system that Washington sees as a threat to US jets.
He said Turkey "must choose" between remaining a key Nato member or risk the security of that partnership "by making such reckless decisions".
Turkey responded that the purchase of the advanced system was a done deal.
