Artists have been the vanguard in the fight for LGBTQ+ acceptance and equality in the decades since Stonewall. While their works often focus on self-expression and activism, they also include exuberant portrayals of love and friendship for a unique window into the community. We are proud to spotlight these pioneering artists — and contemporary talents — whose works continue to challenge and redefine perceptions of Queer life. [Shop the Pride Collection]( Throughout the month of June, 1stDibs will donate 15% of final sales (excl. tax and shipping) from each piece in the Pride Collection to [Queer|Art](. This non-profit organization creates a diverse and vibrant community through the support of LGBTQ+ art and artists across generations and disciplines. Expressions of Pride [Andy Warhol - Ladies & Gentlemen, 1975]( [Andy Warhol - Ladies & Gentlemen, 1975]( [LADIES & GENTLEMEN FS II.137, 1975]( The Pop artist found the subjects for this series at a bar on 8th Avenue in New York City that was a frequent haunt of drag queens and members of the Black and Latino trans community. Attempts to reexamine the work suggest Warhol objectified those depicted, but the fact remains that he shed light on a then-little-known segment of society. This work consists of his written and visual language and contextualizes those years of innocence lost — and details the violence that often befell young gay men in their search for intimacy. In this piece, she reflects on male fantasies of the female body from a woman’s point of view. Her extraordinary influence can be found in the works of 20th-century artists and auteurs from Salvador Dalí to Federico Fellini. [Leonor Fini, Avant de sâendormir, Contemporary](
