The organisers of the Venice Biennale kicked things off with the list of 331 artists who will be participating in Adriano Pedrosa’s main exhibition from April. The show, titled Stranieri Ovunque (Foreigners Everywhere), reflects Pedrosa’s South American heritage and spotlights Indigenous artists, as well as featuring plenty of lens-based art. We’re excited to see the work of Claudia Andujar, who has spent her life defending Yanomami human rights in the Amazon rainforest – and reimagining the scope of documentary imagery in the process. Also included is Marco Scotini’s Disobedience Archive project, a roving video log mining the relationship between art and political action; works by Sim Chi Yin, the Black Audio Film Collective, Hito Steyerl and Barbara Hammer are definitely ones to watch. Look out for a profile of Robert Zhao Renhui – who is representing Singapore in Venice – in our next print issue, while the Danish Pavilion’s announcement of Greenlandic photographer Inuuteq Storch for their presentation is also intriguing; his work combines warm social snapshots with archival research. Closer to home, the Look Climate Lab – which explores how photography can narrate climate change – holds its opening event at Liverpool’s Open Eye Gallery this Thursday, and Max Ferguson launches his book Deadfall in London too. On the submission front, The [PhMuseum Photography Grant]( remains open for entries until 15 February. Poulomi Basu and Bieke Depoorter are former winners, with solo shows at PhEST and Getxophoto up for grabs. And finally, a huge thank you to everyone who came down to the celebration event for Portrait of Britain Vol. 6 last Thursday. It’s been a joy to see the work across the last month.
