First we meet Chinese photographer [Yao Yuan]( whose project 12321 is a collaboration with their pregnant friend, studying her journey to motherhood. Next we discover [Eli Farinango]( who, tired of other photographers' representations of her Indigenous community, created a renewed and collaborative visual representation. Finally, we explore the work of [Luna Lopez]( who used her lens to study the mobility and form of others, after her own body was stricken by arthritis. Elsewhere there’s lots to look forward to, including the launch of [Portrait of Britain Vol. 6]( next week. Winners of this annual award from BJP will see their images displayed on JCDecaux screens nationwide, where they’ll be viewed by audiences of millions. Keep an eye out for details on how to enter. And of course there’s Les Rencontres d’Arles which opens tomorrow, with almost 30 exhibitions to see. Personal highlights from BJP staff include Hannah Darabi's photographs of the Iranian diaspora in LA, the 1970s feminism of Nicole Gravier and The Discovery Award - a great place to see emerging photographers. BJP’s own [OpenWalls Arles]( exhibition opens on 5th July - housed in the historic Galerie Huit Arles, this year's edition of the award presents the works of 51 artists from across six continents, all responding to the theme of Truth. How Chinese Taoism inspired Yao Yuan’s book on pregnancy The Ones to Watch talent’s first project sees them apply ideas of harmony to a friend’s journey to motherhood [Read more]( [Build the way you want]( How Eli Farinango is using photography to explore and depict her Kichwa roots After returning from a difficult stint living in her native Ecuador, the Canada-raised Ones to Watch winner began working with community activists to explore the richness of Indigenous life in North America [Read more]( [Build the way you want]( ‘Unsettling and arousing’: The imaginative gymnastics of Luna Lopez’s portraits The Danish Ones to Watch photographer grew up in a world of activity and dance, informing her tender images which evoke the early experiments of Sally Mann [Read more]( Portrait of Britain Vol.6 Portrait of Britain, the award culminating in the UK’s biggest photography exhibition, is opening for entries on 4th July.
